Day-by-day progress checks on Instagram/TikTok/YouTube @elisastriesthings. You can also join one of my experiments on triedtrial.app
Embarrassingly this took 103 days to actually complete so I am realizing I might have some commitment and accountability problems, hence I built triedtrial.app but I'm still deciding my next experiment and looking for people to join.
As for rejection therapy specifically, I got some pretty cool things from it, including
my role at Lumeria (YC S26) a month after high school
first book signed by the author
some bucket list items fulfilled: on a film set, bouldering in a privately booked venue, won a hackathon
Some things I didn't get
20+ frat parties
0/3 club applications at UC Berkeley, including the dragon boat team I spent 12+ hours doing interviews/socials/tryouts for. Yes that was the only rejection I cried about.
100+ and counting talking to people on the street for some Lumeria field work
Some takeaways
embarassing yourself is surviable and worth doing in the pursuit of making friends
there are so many opportunities that I need to start figuring out what actually matters to me
most rejections are not personal
My dragon boat rejection still feels like getting out of a situationship so I really think rejection therapy is worth doing after a breakup, bad denial, or dry spell. Let me know how your's goes.
